It occured to me that the Hawks do have a symbol in the comics. It looks a bit like the Thundercats logo. It's on Shayera's belt and Hawkman's strappy round thing, like here: [link] It doesn't look like it was ever used in the animated stuff though.
I don't recall it being used - I think some of the other Thanagarians had some kind of symbol on their armor, but I'm not sure if that was it. In any case, Hawkgirl didn't use it (And definitely not by the time she switched to her yellow outfit in JLU.) I admit my reserach was flimsy
Please give the people what they want and bring back the League we all know and love, otherwise we will resort to punishment with Nth metal weapons. Thank you! =3
